Shabbas Queen has an electro-magnetic wand which nullifies electricity, magnetism and gravity. The wand uses an electromagnetic pulse to disable mechanical objects (giving them a “rest”) The wand must be recharged for one day in seven.

This is like what me, my brother and our friends used to joke about in college. Except we saw the Shabbos Queen as more of a needy stereotypical "Jewish American Princess" who comes in and bosses everyone around.
"i'm coming at exactly 4:15 this week, and everything had better be ready or else!"
"DON'T YOU TOUCH THAT LIGHTSWITCH!!"

It happens to be, I was around when she and the rest of the Jewish Hero Corps were created. The artist is a fellow named Mike Netzer who used to live in Ofra in Israel. We worked at the same computer company, with him doing art/graphics and I was running the network. He's actually somewhat well known in the comic industry having done art for Batman and some other famous series. Meanwhile, I saw him on several occasions drawing the JHC.

In the early 1980's in Israel, the "Wonder Woman" TV series was about to debut in Israel on Fridays. It was called "Eishet Chayil". The Israel Broadcasting Authortiy scheduled it for Friday evenings, and the Aguda party MK's were outraged! How could a show called "Eishet Chayil" be broadcast on SHABBAT!
They made such a big deal out of it, that the IBA put in on Friday afternoon before shabbat.
Now, all of Israel, including religious Jews with TVs could watch Wonder Woman on erev shabbat!
