MR.DOMAZ(that's pronounced dumbass)

.

Remember our greenhouses that were purchased for the Palestinian terrorists, with money raised from private American donors(tap here). Well our insane cousins have taught you left wing assholes a aphorism Abba Eban coined years ago,‘‘the Palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity’’.

PA police blocked off ex-Jewish settlements and chased after terrorists in an attempt to impose law and order after "celebrations" of the pullout from Gaza, but the police were unable to stop the looting of Gaza/Zuckerman greenhouses.

The greenhouses, left behind as part of a deal brokered by international mediators, were a centerpiece of Palestinian plans for rebuilding. The PA hoped the high-tech greenhouses would provide jobs and income for Gaza. During a tour of Neveh Dekalim, Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia implored Palestinians to leave the structures intact, even as people scavenged through debris elsewhere in the settlement. "These greenhouses are for the Palestinian people," he said. "We don't want anyone to touch or harm anything that can be useful for our people." His plea did little good.

Crowds of looters in the Gadid settlement overwhelmed guards trying to protect the greenhouses. Guards acknowledged that in many cases, they were unable to stop the looting. "They are taking plastic sheeting, they are taking hoses, they are taking anything they can get their hands on," said Hamza Judeh, a PA policeman.Looters walked off with lighting fixtures, cables and wires. Many were undeterred by the police presence. Police said one man dropped his loot only after he was beaten by security forces.

I am at a loss to understand the mentality behind this. To destroy OUR houses of worship is deplorable, but expected from them. Well within what would be expected from previous actios on their part. But to destroy a good source of income of their OWN?? It proves that most of them have no interest in helping themselves. Sick.

Two Palestinian women looking at their children destroying greenhouses and Jewish synagogues in Gaza.

One turns to the other and wistfully says:

"Kids...They blow up so fast these days"

While Palestinian society would've certainly benefited more from keeping the greenhouses up and running, most individuals stand to profit more from their personal looting than they will from the "trickle down" impact of profit-making greenhouses.

In a functioning society, most individuals refrain from acts like these because of two factors working in combination:
    1) They understand that the common good depends on individuals not making the "Machiavellian" choice in such instances.
    2) There's a reasonable chance of being caught and punished for their thievery.

Clearly, in Palestinian society, factor #2 simply does not apply. The PA has yet to exert anything resembling the rule of law over its populace. In fact, we know that Arafat, the henchmen who came with him from Tunis, and others at the top of the PA have already looted vast sums in foreign aid and tax revenue collected by Israel. Now, it seems, the "man on the street" is getting a piece of the action while he can.

While most of us can't imagine ourselves participating in acts of this sort, the truth is that most of us also relax our scruples in situations where the chances of detection and punishment are slim. Think cheating on your taxes or minor insurance fraud.

First of all to Jameel. LOL

Uncle Moishy, what exactly do you consider cheating on your taxes or for that matter minor insurance fraud.

As the aftermath of Katrina has shown, when the ability to 'enforce' the law by the central authority is not present, be it through intentional abdication or unintentional abdication, the populous will take advantage of the situation. The Palestinians have been living in a society with out self imposed law for an extended period of time, therefore they are not responding to the appeals for restraint. (And as was pointed out they have seen the people in power looting the treasury, so they are out to get theirs.)
