When i was there two years before this video, the hhazan had a really thick Galitziyaner accent and it was practically impossible to tell what he was saying. I definitely came to the conclusion then that when you have such a large gathering of different Jews with different traditions and accents, you pick someone who has an accent closer to the average to be hhazan. Not a Galitziyaner, not a Yemenite, but someone who most of the others would have not too much trouble understanding.
