Did God send Katrina as revenge over Gaza?

Eerie parallels between forced evacuations spark speculation (World Net Daily)

In a nutshell:

  1. Close to 10,000 Jews were expelled from their homes in the Gaza Strip and parts of northern Samaria. Katrina's death toll is now expected to reach at least 10,000.
  2. Gaza's Jewish communities were located in Israel's southern coastal region; America's southern coastal region now lies in ruins.
  3. The U.S. government called on Louisiana residents to evacuate their homes ahead of the storm. The Israeli government, backed by statements from U.S. officials, demanded Gaza residents evacuate their homes.
  4. Katrina, written in Hebrew, has a numerical equivalent of 374, according to a biblical numbering system upheld by all traditional Jewish authorities. Two relevant passages in the Torah share the exact numerical equivalent: "They have done you evil" (Gen. 50:17) and "The sea upon land" (Exodus 14:15)
  5. Bush, from Texas, and Rice, from Alabama, were the most vocal U.S. backers of the Gaza evacuation. Hurricane Katrina hit the states in between Texas and Alabama – Louisiana and Mississippi.
  6. Similarity in scenes: Many residents of Jewish Gaza climbed to their rooftops to escape the threat of expulsion
  7. The day Katrina hit, Israel began carrying out what was termed the most controversial aspect of the Gaza withdrawal – the uprooting of bodies from the area's Jewish cemetery. There have been media reports of corpses floating around in flooded New Orleans regions.
  8. Citizens of Israel were barred from entering Gush Katif; people were only allowed to leave Jewish Gaza. As Katrina was making landfall U.S. authorities barred citizens from entering the affected areas. People were only allowed out.
  9. Gush Katif was an important agricultural area for Israel, providing the Jewish state with 70 percent of its produce. A New Orleans port that exported much of the Midwest's agricultural production was destroyed by Katrina.

    10. Both countries have land where there is dirt.

    11. Both countries have sunshine & moonshine.

    12. Both countries have men & women.

    etc., etc., etc.

But let's get serious. I am offering five hundred to one odds that Moshiach comes before JC.

Also, I am offering five hundred to one odds that JC comes before Moshiach.

The above odds are on a weekly basis. Lowere odds on a monthly and yearly basis.

On August 15, 10,000 patriotic Jews were expelled from their homes
and made refugees in their own country. This was done to fulfill the
dictates of the US-sponsored Road Map to Peace.
There are approximately 6 million people in Israel.
    10,000 divided by 6,000,000 equals 0.00167
Two weeks later, Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in the southern
United States, and laid waste and complete desolation to the City of
New Orleans. New Orleans has a population of 500,000. US News
agencies are openly calling those displaced by the hurricane "refugees."
There are approximately 300 million people in the United States.
    500,000 divided by 300,000,000 equals 0.00167

    To Ruchnigashmi:

There are too many inaccuracies in those figures.

As one example New Orleans did not have 500,000 people. That is an approximation. To be accurate would not fit in with the mathematics.

If there is any real connection between the two then who is to say? Certainly not me. Even the gemarah that says that bad things occur to the world as a result of the Jews does not enable regular people with prophetic visions to decipher why exactly something happened. When chachomim do it they had/have the ability and the shoulders to do so.

The numbers are wrong. All wrong. Use Google for God's sake.

And you left out some similiarities:

For 30 years the Jews of Gaza treated Arabs with contempt.
For 300 years the white people of NOLA treated black people with contempt.

Plessy v. Furgeson, the case that established separate but equal as law, was a NOLA case originally (true!). Separate but less than equal was the way things were in Gaza.

Gaza is a four letter word. Bush is a four letter word.

Ariel Sharon was a decorated soldier. GWB was an AWOL coward (look at the signs! Could they BE any less alike??)

Gush katif was built with wood and stone
NOLA was built with wood and stone

GK had people in it. NOLA had people in it.

WOW. I am so convinced. Good work Amshinover! Way to avoid the BS and only print the really beleivable stuff. Very nicly done.

Yo DB, I got a four letter word for you, PUTZ.
"GWB was an AWOL coward", and what was clinton a war hero? In the words of OM "Puh-leez".

Read cosmos' post above to gain some understanding as to why a comparrison is being made. I agree that it should not be taken litterally.

I am not a Zionist nor do I plan to make aliyah any time soon, but I have a little resspect for OUR HOME Land and OUR BROTHERS/SISTERS that live there. You just appear to be an anti-semite Israel hating Jew.

    Sir Rantsalot,
Your "ranting" of having respect for the Jewish homeland and Jews that have sacrificed so much for it is so very under appreciated and taken for granted by so many people.

To quote Rabbi Wein regarding israel "God gave us a gift and we are all a bunch of ingrates" (Sounds better with his accent)
